This week we saw both Veolia and Itron make strong moves into India, through a 25-year contract for water supply and deployment of nearly 250,000 water meters. This marks one of Veolia’s largest moves into the market, while Itron will use the move to reinforce its presence in the Indian market. These stories, and more, can be found below:
- Rexnord has added a further arm to its water business with its acquisition of German valve-maker VAG Holding GmbH for €175 million, which offers new product lines and geographical diversification.
- Berjaya Corp (BCorp) agreed to acquire an 85% stake in DSG Holdings for $25.97 million (RM77.91 million) in a move to broaden its involvement in the environmental and infrastructure sector. The deal, which values 100% of DSG at RM91.66 million, is slated for completion in 3Q11.
- Missouri American Water acquired Roark Water & Sewer, Inc to add approximately 1,300 new customers to its customer base. The acquisition, which was approved by the Missouri Public Service Commission in April 2011, cost $1.6 million.
